My name is Mr. Cody Leander! I have the great privilege of teaching Social Studies at Colfax Junior/Senior High School. My classes include 7th Grade U.S. History, 8th Grade World Geography/Pacific Northwest History, 9th Grade World History, and Film 101. This is my first year teaching full-time in the Colfax community and it has been nothing but a warm welcome to an amazing school. I grew up on my family farm 20 miles north of Coulee City, Washington where I learned a strong work ethic from my Mom and Dad. They worked long hours to ensure I would have the future and life that I have right now. I graduated high school from Almira/Coulee-Hartline High School (Go Warriors!) in 2008. Received my Bachelors in History Education from Washington State University (Go Cougs!!) in 2012. Finally, earning my Masters in Education: Specialization in Curriculum and Instruction from Washington State University (Go Cougs!!!) in May of 2016. While attending graduate school I had the opportunity to substitute in the various school districts around the area. The Colfax School District became my favorite school to work in as the students are amazing and the staff is supportive and welcoming. I consider myself to be a very fortunate individual to learn and teach in a community such as this. I am proud to tell people where I work when I say, "I get to teach social studies at Colfax High!" Go Bulldogs!!!!
