Hello! My name is Sarah Buchan and I am one of the kindergarten teachers here at Jennings Elementary. Since I was in high school I have wanted to be a teacher and from the beginning of my college career I knew I wanted to teach kindergarten. I grew up in the Vancouver Washington area and attended college at Western Washington University in Bellingham. For my elementary student teaching experience I worked here in Colfax in kindergarten and fell in love with the town and I decided to move here permanently.

I am so excited to be teaching at such a wonderful school full of great teachers! I know that sending your student off to kindergarten can be a bitter sweet experience, especially when it is the first time. I want to create a space where parents feel comfortable discussing their concerns and coming up with solutions that benefit the student, the school, and the home.
