Beginning in 2024, the state of Washington launched a new Summer EBT program called SUN Bucks. The program provides families with $120 for each eligible school-aged child to buy food when school is out.
ELIGIBILITY
Some children will automatically be eligible for SUN Bucks, while others will need to apply. Students may be automatically eligible if they:
- Are enrolled at a school that offers the National School Lunch or School Breakfast Program and qualifies through a Free and Reduced Price Meal application or Family Income Survey; or
- Are age 8-18 and are a member of a household already receiving assistance program benefits (SNAP, TANF, FDPIR).
Students who do not qualify automatically can apply by contacting the SUN Bucks Contact Center at 1-833-543-3230 (TTY: 1-800-833-6348) between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday - Friday (except observed holidays).
